Kimberley’s Blog: Planting the seeds

Hello everyone,

I titled this blog planting seeds as I feel that has been a theme for the week. Putting in the groundwork that will hopefully all come in to fruition soon. Katie and I have been working hard writing for the shows we are developing and writing sketches for a few other projects. The dream for me was always to be acting in a successful comedy series here in America. It seemed like an unattainable dream to actually consider that we could create, write and produce a show that we star in… and now that is the goal. It no longer seems so unattainable but rather, very achievable. We have been working hard and constantly setting higher standards for ourselves and pushing ourselves to continue to learn and grow. So I encourage you all to focus on planting seeds these coming weeks that will grow in to something bigger.

“The people you surround ourselves with either raise or lower our standards. They either help us to become the-best-version-of ourselves, or encourage us to become lesser versions of ourselves. We become like our friends. No man becomes great on his own and no woman becomes great on their own. The people around them help to make them great. We all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose and challenge us to become the best-version-of ourselves”

I wanted to share this quote as it came up on a few different occasions this week and I wanted to send a little reminder to us all to make sure you surround yourself with good people, and also making sure you do have people in your life who will challenge you. I have some key players in my life who always push me to be better, although I can be defensive at times, I appreciate that they always want me to be the best I can and I hope they are in my life forever. Do you have good people around you?

This is a season for me where I really want to step up a level and I am excited to do exactly that. I have some exciting opportunities coming up in my career that will require me to really know myself and be able to stand my ground in environments with lots of important people, so now is the time to plant my seeds and get ready!

Are you taking part in the 40 Hour Famine? This year all the money raised from the 40 Hour Famine will go to helping refugees in Jordan. I will be working with Shannon Ryan this year, and together we will be leading Team Red. We are going to be walking 40km and living out of a back pack for the weekend. Join us! #TeamRed

Thank you for reading.

Kimberley xx
