WHAT IS THE GOAL?
To make great music that has a point to it. I want to inspire other people and make music people can relate to.
HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR DAYS?
I try and do something physically active everyday from a kick boxing class to a hike. I also take time to write everyday whether it just be a thought or a song. Keeping the creative juices flowing is very important.
Other than that my daily routine seems to fluctuate depending on the week. If I have a show coming up I’ll be in rehearsals and I try to spend as much time in the recording studio as possible.
On a slow day I’ll try to grab lunch with a friend and catch up. Always have to make time for the people you love!
WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST HURDLE YOU HAVE HAD TO OVERCOME?
Honestly, I think it’s been self-doubt. Having moments where you just want to throw in the towel because it can get really hard. You hear a lot of no’s in the music industry and they have a way of making you second-guess who you are. It’s a daily battle, but I try to remind myself why I got into this in the first place. The love of it always brings back to pushing forward.
WAS THERE ANY THING YOU HAD TO ALTER IN YOUR MINDSET TO TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH AND FOLLOW YOUR DREAM?
I find myself reevaluating my mindset almost daily. I think the biggest thing for me was coming to the understanding that this is not an overnight process. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to be who you want to be personally and musically. My first album took me 6 years to get released so it definitely challenged my patience at times, but the end result is so rewarding.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST MOMENT YOU HAVE HAD SINCE WORKING ON THIS PROJECT?
Anytime I find out I’ve encouraged someone else is really amazing. I love when people can connect to the things I’m singing and writing about. I love that about music; it really connects people on such an emotional level.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO FOLLOW A DREAM?
Stay positive with yourself and explore every open door. Never be afraid that your dream is too big!
