In this new monthly segment we profile what we’ve been loving in the world of music, travel and entertainment.
Spotlight On: Julia Michaels
The 23-year-old songwriter hailing from Iowa, United States, has just released her debut single, Issues (which I’ve had on repeat since it’s release!) after signing to Republic Records in October.
Julia’s already got co-writer of Justin Bieber’s Sorry and Selena Gomez’s Good for You under her belt so we can’t wait for her now much-anticipated solo EP later this year.
Travel Bucket List #1: Queenstown
Do you have a travel bucket list full of dream locations like we do? The first stop could be visiting a town just in our own backyard – Queenstown. The picturesque town is known for it’s slopes and having the first and original AJ Hackett bungy site at the Kawarau Bridge – if you’re into an adrenaline pumping adventure, this is the place to go.
Book: Anna Kendrick – Scrappy Little Nobody
The Pitch Perfect star who’s witty posts online are loved by her 13.5 million followers, has gone and outdone herself – she’s released her own memoir titled ‘Scrappy Little Nobody’. Kendrick delves into the many stories and moments on her road to success in her first book, which you will not want to put down. Exploring tales of being in and out of the spotlight, designer clothes, Zac Efron, what she wanted to be when she was younger and her first stage performance – nothing is safe!
Movie: The Edge of Seventeen
Hailee Steinfield’s new blockbuster The Edge of Seventeen follows her character, Nadine through the trails, fails and triumphs of high school including having your best friend secretly date your brother. The film that also stars Woody Harrelson and Glee’s Blake Jenner is so relatable and Steinfield pulls the strings in all the right directions, you’ll be sure to be in fits of laughter and tears.
