March Favourites

Happy third month of the year – phew these past two months (and the Summer season!) of Twenty Nineteen have seriously flown by.

This March a new female superhero takes over the big screen, a musical group taking over airwaves, inspirational read by a girl boss & CEO + the brother trio back on the music block…

Music: Citizen Queen
There’s a new girl group on the block and they’re already taking the airwaves by storm. Citizen Queen may have only become an official girl group at the end of last year but they’ve already supported Pentatonix at their sell out December shows and now are clocking up millions of views online. I discovered CQ while scrolling through Instagram, their new cover of the ultimate mashup of girl groups from now and years ago captured my attention. The medley now has over 5 million views on YouTube alone and that’s just in six short weeks – I can’t wait to see what’s next for these gals.

Travel: Barcelona
Visiting the stunning wonders and views of one of Spain’s largest cities, Barcelona is sure to be on your travel bucket list (especially if you’ve seen Disney’s Cheetah Girlsstrutting through their streets). The vibrant city has an array of food and drink on offer, markets and day tripping around to different treats and beaches with a variety of masterpieces and cuisine along the way.

Book: WorkParty – Jaclyn Johnson
I love reading inspirational female stories…you may just think I’m saying this because International Women’s Day is just next week but truely. Reading about gals all over the world founding and creating amazing things, being CEO’s and all of the challenges in between. Meet Jaclyn Johnson, author of WorkParty: How to Create & Cultivate the Career of Your Dreams. Jaclyn’s the CEO & founder of the growing Create & Cultivate plus also has a Forbes’30 Under 30 title under her belt. WorkPartyis out now.

Film: Captain Marvel
Brie Larson takes over the big screen in the latest Marvel franchise addition as Carol Danvers a.k.a Captain Marvel. The flick, which is Marvel’s first female-lead superhero movie releases in NZ cinemas fittingly on the eve of International Women’s Day. Larson is joined by the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and Jude Law in the 90s set, exploring the previously unseen history while forming into one of the most powerful in the Marvel Universe. Captain Marvelflies into cinemas on the 7th.
